First Tee Denver – Players’ Club Operation During COVID19


The objective of this procedure is to define steps taken to safely operate First Tee Players’ Club Tournament Series during the COVID19 health emergency, with focus on operational precautions, physical distancing protocols and cleaning/disinfection practices.

The information in Section 2.0 will be made available to families on-line at and through First Tee Denver Social Media

Teams and Practices

  • Teams will have a maximum of eight participants
  • Each team will have two coaches
  • Each team will have one regularly scheduled 60-minute practice per week
  • Only two teams will be allowed to practice at any location at the same time. If two teams are practicing at once, they must remain completely separate and utilize different practice facilities
  • There will be one virtual practice each week for participants that miss their scheduled practice or are not comfortable having an in-person, team practice

Tournament Reservations and check-in

  • Tee times will be secured and paid for online in advance of each tournament
  • Participants must not arrive more than 15 minutes before scheduled tee time
  • Participants will proceed directly to the tournament starter located near the first tee box at each course
  • Participants MUST use the restroom BEFORE they tee off, there will be no on-course restrooms
  • Parents may take participant to check in then MUST wait in car or leave for the duration of event. No spectators are allowed.
  • Participants must be picked up and leave the facility no more than 15 minutes after completion of round
  • Bunker rakes, ball washers, water coolers and towel buckets have been removed. Participants must bring their own prefilled water bottle
  • All tournament results will be posted online and on social media
  • All participants are required to maintain physical distancing of at least 6 feet at all times
  • All participants are required to wear face coverings
  • The pro shop will be CLOSED

Golf equipment

  • All participants are required to bring their own equipment to every practice and tournament
  • Sharing of equipment is not allowed at any time
  • If participants don’t have their own golf clubs, First Tee will provide clubs for them to use for the duration of the tournament series.

First Tee Employee Expectations

  • Maintain physical distancing of at least 6 feet
  • Wear face coverings secured around the mouth and nose
  • One adult will walk with each foursome during tournaments to supervise and enforce social distancing and other safety standards. They will also keep score for all participants in that foursome and turn in score to the scorer after the event
  • Clean and disinfect class area and equipment at the end of each session
  • Reinforce physical distancing requirements for guests through positive dialogue and education
